By Josephine Pennington

Rainy season can be gloomy and uncomfortable. But if you know how to lighten up the mood by wearing something warm and attractive, then you are in for a treat. If before our usual rainy clothing like coats and sweater are purely for practical reasons, now they have been a fashion statement as well.

Manufacturers recognize the need to pattern their production of these goods in such a way that would suit the latest trend in the fashion industry. Among the materials that has reflected the change are the rubber boots. They have improved in terms of quality and design over time. Gone were those days when you have to fret wearing a pair just because it does not look good with your clothes. Now, you have several options.

When buying a pair of boots, you have to keep in mind that not all of them are created equal. They can be made from different materials and they are all good for their own purposes. For wet season however, rubber ones are the most recommended. Here are the things that you should look for when choosing a pair.

Size of the boots. You will not be comfortable moving around unless you get something that fits you well. Boots need to be just the right size for you feet. They should not be too tight nor too loose. Get your own measurement ahead of time. When you visit shops, take time to fit your picks. Try walking around and get a feel of it.

Design. When we talk about design, we easily associate it with fashion. You want to look good while on your boots, so be it. Pick the design that you think will match well with most of your clothing. There are those with plain colored designs while others go as far as putting fur like designs or ribbons on its body.

Features. Aside from fashion, the vital role of the boots is to protect you from mud and water getting inside your feet during rainy or winter season. When choosing for one, be sure that it is at least water resistant if not waterproof. This will ensure that your feet is well protected. Wet feet over time can develop bad odor. Also, check the tread to make sure that you do not easily slide down on slippery grounds.

Style. Along with the design, you also need to be aware of the style. Ankle length style for instance offers lesser protection than the knee length one. However, the former looks awesome with shorts and skirts. There are styles as well that targets certain population like women who loves to wear wedge.

Price of the product. Regardless of whether you are on a tight budget or not, it is always best if you take time to compare prices from different retailers and manufacturers. This will not only lead you to the best deals that are more affordable. This will also help you note the differences of product quality from one store to another.

Boots will not be usable anymore when summer comes. But you can always keep it for the next rainy season. Choose something that is durable enough.
